Prayer

I am the Way, the Truth and the Life

A group of us women were praying together over a conference call this morning.  As we were praying over the impacts of the coronavirus, the Lord reminded me of a similar situation in the Old Testament.  He reminded me of the Passover.  He reminded me of the angel of death that was unleashed over families to kill all the first born sons.  He reminded me that He had a solution in the midst of tragedy.  He reminded me that His solution was for his children (the Israelites) to take a hissop branch and dip it in the blood of a spotless lamb.  He reminded me that they were to take the branch dipped in blood and run it over and around their doorposts so that the angel of death would “passover” their household and their first born son would be saved.

I’m reminded today that the blood of the spotless lamb foreshadowed the true spotless lamb, Jesus Christ.  The one who gave His blood and died for all the sins of the world.  He died for our infirmities (physical or mental weaknesses), for (dis)ease, for germs and for the brokenness of the world.  When sin entered the world, God’s perfect haven and plan for mankind was broken.  Jesus died to restore the brokenness of the world back to God.  Jesus bridged the gap and paid the price we rightly should have paid.

Father, thank you for giving us Jesus, the spotless lamb who takes away the sins of the world.  Thank you Jesus for your protection.  Thank you that you were able to withstand the angel of death through the Passover and that you are able to do it again.  Jesus, we plead your blood over and around our doorposts, over our rooftops and over our family members and those we love.  “Passover” our families and those whom we love.  I pray that this tragedy will bring those who don’t know you to a knowledge of who you are…that you are the Truth, the Way and the Life and that nobody comes to the Father, except through you Jesus!  Father, you say in your Word, “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”  (Matthew 10:28)  You are in complete control and YOU are the one to be feared and revered.  Thank you for protecting us during this time.  You are a good, good Father.  Amen

If you have never invited Jesus to be your Lord and Savior and would like to share in the love and protection that He gives us, all you need to do is ask Him.  You can pray a simple prayer to invite Him in that goes like this:  Jesus, I invite you into my heart to be my Lord and Savior.  Forgive me of all my sins.  I'm tired of trying to control everything and I am ready to turn my life over to you.  Thank you for being my Lord and Savior.  Amen.

If you just prayed that prayer for the first time and are ready to start your new life with Jesus by your side, send me an email at angelaackley777@gmail.com so I can help get you started!  Bless you my friends!

xoxo, Angela
